A trip to De Smet, South Dakota, takes visitors to the homestead of famed author, Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Visitors can spend an entire day visiting the many attractions devoted to Laura’s time in South Dakota including the original Ingalls homestead, the house that Pa Ingalls built, the original Surveyors’ House from Laura’s book “By the Shores of Silver Lake,” pioneering activities and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant, held each July.
